The Southern Right Whale Adventure
When you first come
face to face with a whale you are
immediately struck with awe and a sense of
the immensity of creation. These gentle
giants of the sea return year after year to
the same bays (at Hermanus, Hout Bay etc)
and bask in the warm, shallow waters with
their young. At Hermanus and Hout Bay, you
can stand on the rocks and almost feel the
spray of the whale as they blow water metres
into the air. If you are lucky, you can be
closer than 30 feet from the whales. The
Whale season is from June to November,
although some whales are spotted as early as
April and as late as January.
After collecting you
from your hotel door, we drive you up the
magnificent coastline to Hermanus where you
can see these magnificent creatures close
up. Stand on the rocks and listen to the
sounds of the whales as they spew spray
metres into the air from their blow holes.
Catch sight of mothers nursing their young.
Our guides will regale you with all the
facts and stories to keep you entertained
for hours. Then enjoy a light lunch(optional
extra) at one of the pretty restaurants in
Hermanus, before making your way back via
Gordon’s Bay.

that you are not restricted to any
schedule or timetable. You can dictate
where to go and how long to stay at each
point, given the start and end
parameters. Private tours require a
minimum of 2 persons. If you are alone,
you may be paired with another person or
