Directions from N7:-
From the N7, about 5km prior to the N1, is a board " N1
City/Stad". Proceed until ontop of the bridge, change to
the left lane and do a full circle down towards the N1
(move one lane to your right) and proceed towards Cape
Town. Soon after you will see a board "Cape Town or
Kaapstad 10km". Change to the left lane as you will be
turning off to your left following the board "Muizenberg
M3". After turning off, proceed to the top of the
bridge, indicate that you want to turn to your right,
and immediately change one lane to your right. You are
now on the M5.
Follow the M5 for a short distance. Don't take the first
turnoff (left) towards the N2 or Airport. Proceed to the
top of the bridge and then immediately change one lane
to your left and do a full circle down towards the N2.
Change one lane to your right going in the direction of
Cape Town, go over a bridge, underneath two bridges
(close together) and underneath another bridge. The road
will split. To your right is towards Cape Town. Turn to
your left (Muizenberg M3). This will put you onto De
Waal Drive which becomes Rhodes Drive. The Univercity
will be on your right, and Rhodes Memorial a bit further
on your right as well. Soon after, go over to the
righthand lane, and at your first set of traffic lights,
turn right (Board=Hout Bay/Kirstenbosch).
Drive past Kirstenbosch (on your right), and at the
T-junction turn right again. Go uphill (there is a
pedestrian crossing at the top on the turn - be
careful!), and then downhill through all the turns, past
Cecilia Forest (on your right) until you get to the
traffic circle at Constantia Nek.
Go around the circle (avoid the first exit), and
downhill towards Hout Bay. Houtkapperspoort's entrance
is about 300m down the road, first entrance on your
right. As you enter the premises, please stop at the
security boom and they will direct you to the office, or
to your cottage if it is after office hours.
Please note that the speed limit is 10kmh on the
property. Children and animals have the right of way.
Directions from Airport
On exiting the airport grounds, follow the Cape Town
signs. Drive over the bridge and immediately turn right
towards and onto the freeway (N2) which will take you
towards Cape Town.
Closer to Cape Town you will see two cooling towers on
your right hand side. The road will start turning
towards Table Mountain. Closer to the mountain you will
drive over a bridge (the M5). Make sure you are in the
left lane. You will drive underneath two bridges that
are close to each other, and when you pass underneath
the third bridge, the road will split. To the right is
Cape Town. You need to turn to the left (M3 Muizenberg
turnoff). Now you will be on De Waal Drive which will
become Rhodes Drive. The University of Cape Town will be
on your right, the Rhodes Memorial a bit further on your
right as well. Soon after, go over to the right hand
lane. At the first set of traffic lights, turn to you
your right (Hout Bay/Kirstenbosch turnoff).
Drive past Kirstenbosch (on your right), and at the
T-junction turn right again. Go uphill (there is a
pedestrian crossing at the top on the turn – be
careful), and then downhill through all the turns past
Cecelia Forest (on your right) until you get to the
traffic circle at Constantia Nek.
Go round the circle (avoid the first exit), and go
downhill towards Hout Bay. Houtkapperspoort is about
200m down the road, the first entrance on your right
(follow the wooden fence).
As you enter the premises, please stop at the security
boom and they will direct you to the office, or to your
cottage if it is after office hours. Please note that
the speed limit is 10kmh on the property. Children and
animals have the right of way.
