One of the best-loved outdoor theatres in the Cape is Wynberg’s Maynardville Open-Air Theatre, where around 20 000 patrons attend a variety of performances each year.

The Theatre – at Unit 1, 20 Piers Street, Maynardville – is renowned for its annual Shakespeare-in-the-Park production. Once a year around 8 000 high school scholars arrive to watch some of the Bard’s more famous plays.

The 500 metre-squared park-like surrounds, complete with 720 rustic wooden seats, cater for large crowds.
