Hout Bay
- (Atlantic)-
This is a long beach at the foot of Chapmans
Peak Drive. The beach runs from the mountain to
the harbour and is fantastic for boat trips to
Seal Island or for jogging and long walks. The
water is a little warmer than at Camps Bay and
swimming is safe. Ideal for children.
Muizenberg
- (Indian
Ocean)- This is located in False Bay, like Fish Hoek beach. The water there is warmer and many
local Capetonians swim and surf here. The
surfing is fantastic as the waves are long and
the surf is not too rough.
Llandudno
-(Atlantic) -
This is one of Cape Town's secrets! It is tucked
away from view on the road to Hout Bay and sits
beneath one of the best lookout points in the
Cape. It is a beach frequented by locals and the
sand is soft and white. It's great for surfing
but not the safest beach for children as the
surf can be rough. Ideal if you want to play
ball games or throw a Frisbee.
